Matthias after a long flight. Nothing like a cold Heineken after the action.  Posted by Picasa

Wow, great! I've been wanting to go do this for a long time. I've been in Kaohsiung over 2 years but thought you had to fly from Hua Lien... too far.

I'll be out one weekend soon, do they rent gliders? I've been skydiving and I have my gliders (airplane) license, still don't know what I'm doing, but more than willing to try.

Colin.

Cool, two things:

1. What is a "cunimb"?

2. The time on your site is off, it's set to somewhere in N.America. If you set the location to Taiwan, the time stamp on the commments will be to Taiwan time.

1."cunimb" is short for CUMULONIMBUS,
which is - without getting too technical - a thunderstorm. A thunderstorm is just an overgrown thermal cloud (cu or cumulus)that keeps pumping in humid conditions. They are dangerous, cause they can exhibit very high winds, severe turbulence, lightning, strong recipitation and CLOUDSUCK(lift too strong to get away from)
They are to be avoided at all times (when flying your hg or pg)

2.Timeset...I thought my location was set as Taiwan. I'll see if I can change it. If it doesn't change in the next 24 hours, please help me out then.

Cheers
